Before joining Alamo Group, Mr. Leonard had a successful career at Metso Corporation, where he spent nineteen years. Starting as Vice President of Nordberg Inc., a subsidiary of Rauma in Finland, he advanced to the position of Senior Vice President at Metso Minerals Industries Inc. in Helsinki, Finland. Metso is a renowned global leader in technology and services, serving diverse industries such as mining, construction, power generation, automation, recycling, and pulp and paper.
With a foundation in mechanical engineering, Mr. Leonard began his career as a graduate trainee at Allis-Chalmers Corporation, completing a comprehensive two-year training program for engineers. He furthered his education and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Committed to continuous professional development, Mr. Leonard enriched his knowledge through the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School and additional executive education at the Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.
